Agnosticism
Whether God exists is not settled by the evidence we have, so judgment is suspended.
What it claims
Agnosticism takes a stance of suspension of judgment toward the proposition that God exists: neither belief nor disbelief. Huxley coined the word in 1869 and explained it in an 1889 essay. For him it was not psychological indecision but an epistemic principle: do not claim as certain a conclusion the evidence does not warrant.
