Aesthetic Subjectivism
Beauty lies not in the object but in the mind that beholds it.
What it claims
Aesthetic subjectivism holds that aesthetic predicates report or express the appreciator's response rather than a property of the object. Hume himself wrote that beauty is no quality in things themselves but exists merely in the mind which contemplates them. Santayana defined beauty as pleasure objectified.
